Thirty years at sea, offshore and in the regulator’s chair

I write about what regulation, operations and leadership look like from the deck plate up.

About me

QHSE, security and compliance professional with 30 years’ experience in offshore, marine, industrial and technology-driven project environments, including work with Norwegian and international regulatory authorities.

My background includes corporate and site-level QHSE leadership, quality and security management, integrated management systems, risk management, emergency preparedness and business continuity, incident investigation, regulatory compliance and contractor assurance.

I began my career at sea as a navigator, chief mate and naval vessel master. Since then I have worked for regulators, a classification society, a drilling contractor and an offshore minerals company, and I now work as an independent advisor.
